Processing of High-Resolution Optical Images

High-resolution optical imaging, or reflective microscopy, particularly in corrosion studies, requires customized image processing. The scripts are tailored for our system, which generates large (~4000×4000 px), storage-intensive (16-bit) TIFF images, necessitating extensive automation and processing optimization. While the scripts are cross-platform, optimal performance requires multiprocessing capabilities. Below are scripts addressing common preprocessing steps and task-specific image data extraction and analysis.
